General Information:  The purpose of the GAAQG  show is to display a diversity of styles by our members from beginners to professional.  Many of the exhibited quilts are traditional to contemporary.

This is a Non-Juried event.  You may submit a quilt of any size, quilted wearable’s or other quilted art pieces.  A separate entry form is required for each item. You may duplicate the application form if needed.   Copy all submitted entries for your own records.  There is a space limitation, so we reserve the right to plan the layout on a first submitted basis.  You may e-mail your application.  All members are allowed Two  entries , unless layout contacts you to fill a space.

Show Hours:  Saturday. July 31---9:00 to 5:00pm      Sunday, August 1--11:00 to 5:00p

Entry Application:  .   Please take the time to briefly describe your quilt.  Consider the viewer.  How would you tell your story?  What is the reason for you inspiration.  What techniques or fabrics did you use?  Remember to give credit where credit is due!  Was your quilt hand quilted or machine by you?

Hanging Sleeve and Label:   Each quilt must have a 4” sleeve attached to the back of the quilt for hanging purposes.  A lap, twin, queen, or king size quilt without a sleeve could stand the risk of not being hung.   A label must be attached to the back of your quilt with name, address, and phone number. You may document your label with a story, but make sure that the ink is heat set before attaching to the quilt.  A quilt without a sleeve stands the risk of not being hung.

Photograph:   A color photo (3 x 5 or 4 x 6), slide, or fabric swatches must accompany each entry form.  The quilt does not need to be completed when the photo is taken. The photo is used for producing a color-coordinated show. You have the options of e-mailing your application along with photograph.

Application Deadline:   Entries must be postmarked by MAY 22, 2010 and mailed to the address at the bottom of the application.

Drop Off:   Entries must be delivered in a pillowcase or similar bags, labeled with your name, address and phone number.   Another member may drop off your quilt (s), but they  must have the claim receipt when the quilt is picked up. The designated  drop-off locations will be posted in the march  newsletter.

All quilts must be drop off by Thursday - July 29,2010.  You must call the drop-off location to make arrangements for your quilt.  Quilts can be dropped off at  Washtenaw College between 7:30 am to 10:00 am on Friday  July 30th during show set up.  No quilts will be accepted after 10:00 am, on Friday.

Pick-up time:    Sunday- Aug 1, 2010 at 5:30 pm. Quilts cannot be picked up before the closing of the show. You must have a claim receipt to pick up your quilt as the committee will not release the quilt.  If you are unable to pick up your quilt, make arrangements with a friend or fellow guild member to pick it up with the claim receipt.

Quilts for Sale:  The guild is not responsible for the sale of your quilt. We will however, try to refer all requests to you.

Insurance Purpose:  you must list the estimate value of your quilt on the application.  The minimum up to a maximum of $800.00 .  If you do not place a value, it will be defaulted to the minimum of $100.00 .  Ex:  Any expense that you incurred to make the quilt, such as fabric purchases, independent contractor to quilt your quilt , etc.  You must have some receipts for the value.  You can have your quilt  appraised, but it is not needed for the show, unless the value of the quilt is over the maximum then you must have your own insurance.
