Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild proudly presents Quilting Unlimited 2013, at Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti, Michigan,
the weekend of August 2-4, 2013.
July 15, 2013 NOTICE: Class
supply lists are also on the website, and each class supply list includes the teacher's email address. If you have any
questions about the class or the supply list, please contact the teacher via email. At this time, the classroom information
is also be on the website, on each individual class page.
This year Fenton Catering will be on site with a selection
of lunch items for purchase. Or you may bring your lunch from home. On Friday, the fast food vendors in the student center
will be open if you care to purchase your lunch from them.
We will gather in the Atrium for lunch. We will
have show-and-tell each day, so bring your completed projects from QU2011, or even your works-in-progress (or completed!)
from QU2013. And each day we will have our world-famous (or at least it should be) drawing for some fabulous door prizes!
Dinner Friday night will be at WCC, in the atrium, and will be catered by The Original Cottage Inn of Ann Arbor.
There will be a selection of pasta, pizza and salads. Dinner Friday night will be followed by our guild fashion show. Remember,
if you made it and you can wear it, it's fashion. So be sure to sign up to participate.
dinner will be at the Holiday Inn and will be followed by a lecture by Sue Nickels. She will share with us her journey from
hand quilter to the award-winning quilter she is today. She will have some of her quilts with her to share, and she will
save some time to answer your questions.
Tickets for both dinners will be on sale at the July quilt day. If
you will not be able to attend the July meeting, you may also purchase your tickets by mail, using the Dinner Ticket Form. Your tickets will be held at will call, for pick-up just prior to the dinners. Once you send your
check to purchase dinner tickets, you will receive an email confirming receipt of your check and purchase of your tickets.
June 3, 2013 NOTICE: Several QU classes were
canceled due to low enrollment.
May 15, 2013 NOTICE: When a class is filled,
it is marked on these webpages as "full." Those classes are also marked as "sold out" on the registration
webpages. Occasionally, though, you may find a "full" class that is not marked as "sold out." That is
because there has been a cancellation and therefore the class has an opening. The registration webpages will have the most
up-to-date information on the classes. So even if these pages say a class is "full," unless the registration page
is marked as "sold out," there is still a spot in that class for you.
April 20, 2013 NOTICE: Registration is now open
to the general public. You do not have to be a member of GAAQG to attend QU; however, there is a $20 participation fee for
non-members. Or you can choose to pay dues in the amount of $35 and become a GAAQG member for 2013. We would love to have
you join our guild. Please refer to www.gaaqg.com for all the benefits of membership.
Join us for a weekend
of unlimited learning, unlimited friendships and unlimited fun! A wide selection of classes will allow you to sharpen your
skills or maybe venture off in a different direction and try something new. And if you can only join us for one day, or two
days, that is completely acceptable. However, to get the maximum benefit, the recommendation is for a full weekend of classes!
Please check back May 15th for complete information regarding hotel accommodations
and our lunch and dinner offerings.
What would a gathering of quilters be without show-and-tell?
Each day as we gather for lunch, we will have a show-and-tell session. Whether it's a class project you worked on yesterday
in class, or last QU, or a project you've brought from home, we'd love to have you share! And you won't want
to miss the drawing as we give away some fabulous quilt items.
Our evening meals come complete with entertainment,
too. On Friday night we will have our guild fashion show. If you can wear it, it's fashion! Consider showing off your
handmade garments/accessories. Usually members model their own garments, but if you would like to provide someone to model
your garment for you, that's fine, too. Make plans to join us -- and participate -- in this fun event!
After Saturday dinner, Sue Nickels will share her personal journey from hand quilter to the machine quilter she is today.
Sue will share slides of her own quilts, the quilts of her sister, Pat Holly, as well as quilts of machine quilters who have
influenced the current machine quilting trends. She will bring a selection of her quilts to share and provide time for discussion
at the end, so bring your questions about machine quilting!
Finally, be sure you make time to view the instructor
quilt show. Each of our instructors will offer a piece of their work to display. Find out just how versatile our teachers
