Friday, November 20 – Bill Kerr – Magic Inch Quilts

Appropriate level:   Beginner to Advanced

Learn several variations of our most popular improvisational piecing technique and make one of the six projects in Magic Inch Quilts. Endlessly flexible and fun, this technique allows you to customize easily any of the patterns to any size.

Due to scheduling considerations, Bill Kerr will be teaching the November workshops originally to be taught by Weeks Ringle. For those of you unfamiliar with Bill, he and Weeks are partners and co-founders of the Modern Quilt Studio.

From Weeks:

“We make the same number of quilts, teach the exact same classes the same way and he had very successful classes at your guild when we were last there 13 years ago. In addition, Bill is a tenured professor of design and a beloved teacher so I know your members will enjoy his classes.”

In 1999, Weeks Ringle co-founded Modern Quilt Studio along with her husband, Bill Kerr. Weeks and Bill wrote the first book on modern quilting, The Modern Quilt Workshop, as well as Quiltmaker’s Color Workshop, Quilts Made Modern, Transparency Quilts, and several other publications.

Their joint biography can be found on their website,,
