Sheer Delight – May 19, 2017
Add several transparent layers or holes in sheer layers to create a more complex looking quilt. This techniques class will include uses of a variety of sheers in many different ways. Meena Schaldenbrand will show you how to fold, gather, pleat, stamp and heat distress sheers. You can also create grids and underlays with beads. Your samples can include feathers, leaves, flowers, trees, water, shadows, as well as layers of positive/negative images. Sheers will be used as overlays to trap items such as beads and found objects, and as underlays for backgrounds and easy use. We will also emboss sheers and use heat tools to create holes for added texture.
Workshops are open to both guild members and non-guild members. Because the cost of the workshops is subsidized by members’ dues, non-members are asked to pay an additional $20 per workshop. Non-members are able to register for a workshop approximately two months prior to the workshop. Workshop registration policy.
Online registration is available for both members and non-members. (If you prefer to write a check and mail in your workshop registration, please download our printable form.)
