One appeal about making quilts for SafeHouse Center residents is the chance to use whatever design you want, as long as the finished quilt measures at least 60” x 80.”
I love to make scrappy quilts and it doesn’t take much to get me started, but if you’d like some inspiration there are loads of books and YouTube videos on the subject. Two of my favorites are Just Get It Done Quilts with Karen Brown and Conquering Mount Scrapmore with Brenda which is all about using scraps up.
You can also check out our own member, Mary M. Hogan’s new book Log Cabin Improv available from Amazon.
With all this inspiration, join us for a monthly Zoom SafeHouse Center Sew-in. It is a great way to meet up with fellow members and learn new things.
Zoom information and reminder will be sent by email.
See you at the Sew-In!

Reminder to email photos of SafeHouse Center and personal quilts to Liz Rodriguez (showandtell@gaaqg.com) ten days before Quilt Day so that they can be included in the slideshow for the website.

You will need to bring your own sewing machine and your own projects. Sleeping accommodations will be in a room with four twin beds and an attached bathroom, with towels and linens provided. The cost will be $165 for three days, or you can choose to arrive on Thursday night, June 29, for an extra $30.
