SafeHouse Center Quilts
Made and Donated by GAAQG Members
January through July, 2020

Every year generous GAAQG members make and donate
approximately 300 quilts to SafeHouse Center.
As of July, 2020, we've already donated 283!
Each SafeHouse resident receives a comforting quilt and, best of all—
these women and children get to keep their quilt when they leave the Center.

The quilts remind domestic violence survivors that there are people who care.

GAAQG members donate fabrics for use in making SafeHouse quilts.
The guild provides free quilt batting.  Outstanding volunteers host
SafeHouse Sewing Events and prepare fabric kits for members.

When we host our biennial, in-person quilt shows,
we also auction items made by GAAQG members.
We plan to continue the biennial, in-person quilt show in 2022.

Since 1991, GAAQG and its members have made more than
$76,000 in financial contributions to SafeHouse, in addition to
generously donating comforting quilts to residents.

During the COVID pandemic, our caring GAAQG members
also made and donated nearly 4,000 fabric face masks
to health care facilities and local charities in Ann Arbor and Detroit.
