The Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild will host our online July Quilt Day meeting on Saturday, July 18 at 9:15 am. GAAQG members will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to participate in the Quilt Day meeting via GoToMeeting.com. You must be a GAAQG active member to participate in our Quilt Day meeting.
Our guest lecturer is Brenda Ratliff, an influential up-and-comer in the modern quilting world. Brenda is the founder of the Ann Arbor Modern Quilt Guild and wears many hats: quilt retailer, avid blogger, pattern designer, convention organizer, and RJR Fabrics designer.
Her once small business that began in her basement grew into Pink Castle Fabrics—one of the largest online retailers of modern and Japanese import fabrics. Brenda’s closing Pink Castle Fabrics to focus on new quilting industry adventures.
The GoToMeeting will open at 8:15 am, and the actual meeting starts at 9:15 am.

Our 2020 Quilt Show will be online, beginning August 1, 2020
Beginning August 1, 2020, GAAQG will hold its 16th Biennial Quilt Show, “Celebrate the Quilt From Home” here on our website. Every even-numbered year, GAAQG members create items to enter into this non-juried show. This online show will feature member-made entries and two Special Exhibits. In lieu of admission, we are suggesting a $6.00 or more donation to SafeHouse Center. For more information, check our Quilt Show page.

Appropriate level: BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME IN ALL OF ANN’S WORKSHOPS!
We will make a mosaic-like art quilt using fusible web and free-motion machine quilting. Ann will provide backing and mat board to mount the finished quilt. Students may choose any of Ann’s mosaic designs by looking on her website.
Ann Loveless is a native of Frankfort, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University and received her degree in Clothing and Textile Design. In 2004 Ann fell in love with the art of Landscape Quilting. Ann’s inspiration and designs come from nature and the beautiful lakes and woods of Northwest and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She works from photographs and has developed three distinctive quilting techniques. Ann is the 2013 and 2015 first place winner of Artprize in Grand Rapids

Workshops are open to both guild members and non-guild members. Because the cost of the workshops is subsidized by members’ dues, non-members are asked to pay an additional $15 per workshop. Non-members will be able to register for all 2020 workshops after December 1, 2019. Workshop registration policy.
Members: $75 + $2.50 credit card processing fee
Non-Members: $90 + $2.90 credit card processing fee
