We have had some extraordinary fabric donations this year. The storage unit is packed to the ceiling, Roberta’s basement sewing room has more guild fabric than her own, Nico has fabric up to her eyeballs, and we have to get rid of it ALL.

Ann Loveless’ lecture at the Saturday November 20 Quilt Day meeting is titled “Landscape Art Quilts”. The lecture presentation and trunk show describes the techniques that Ann uses in composing and creating her award-winning quilts. She has had over 15 quilts accepted in national juried shows and is the unprecedented two-time winner (in 2013 and 2015) of the Grand Rapids Artprize for Sleeping Bear Dune Lakeshore and Northwood Awakening. These large installations capture the beauty of Northern Michigan scenery. She creates mainly landscape quilts using three techniques – collage, mosaic and impressionistic composition. This will be a Zoom presentation. A link will be sent in advance of the lecture.
