Quilt Show 2020: Celebrate the Quilt from Home

Our 2020 Quilt Show is an online show

No admission fee. Consider making a SafeHouse Center Donation instead*

($6 or more is recommended)

On August 1, 2020, GAAQG will open its 16th Biennial Quilt Show, “Celebrate the Quilt From Home 2020.”  Every even-numbered year, GAAQG members create items to enter into this non-juried show.  This online show is a new venture that we hope will attract  200+ member-made entries.

“Celebrate the Quilt from Home” will also feature two special exhibits created by GAAQG small groups: the “Monet Challenge” from the Eight Mile Radius Group and “Quilt Rescue 9-1-1” by the Quilt Study Group.  Quilts made for donation to SafeHouse Center* are in another slide gallery.  Although you will not be able to shop at this event in person, we hope you continue to support small businesses to restock your quilting supplies at your favorite quilt shop.

In our show we celebrate the accomplishments of beginners and experts alike.  Viewers of our online show will see traditional quilts, art quilts, mixed media quilts; quilts intended to be loved enthusiastically by children or taken to college; quilts intended for family heirlooms or eventual purchase by collectors; hand and machine piecing, applique, commercial and hand-dyed fabrics; commercial patterns and original designs – they will all be there!

Our virtual show will be posted here for an extended period so you will have time to study these pieces of art from the comfort of home.  Please share our online quilt show with your family, friends and neighbors and help us extend our reach across the country and around the world!

We normally charge $6.00 admission to our show but hope you will consider a donation in that amount or greater to SafeHouse Center.

*GAAQG supports SafeHouse Center, a shelter for domestic abuse and sexual assault survivors, as its primary community service project.  Our members make and donate an average of 300 quilts per year, which are given to each new client upon arrival and to take home when they leave.  Our guild also raises several thousand dollars each year, much of it at our Biennial Quilt Show, to help support their work.

Please help us promote our show to your friends, quilt groups, guilds and quilt shops by sharing our poster.
