More than 1300 visitors attended our 17th biennial 2022 quilt show.

2022 Viewers Choice Winners

First place:  Kathy Bricker – Quilt #140:  “Say Their Names – 2020”

Inspired by April Anue’s “Strange Fruit” quilt, Kathy’s quilt is a collection of 8″ blocks representing daily stitch “meditations” that also represents the victims of violence against people of color or their sexual orientation.  It also includes the loss of American icons and the US COVID deaths to date stitched in the sashing.

Second place:  Kathy Hren – Quilt #208:  “Never Enough Time”

Kathy designed this quilt for her son who works 10-hour days, picks up three kids from school, and starts dinner before his wife gets home from work.  He wanted a quilt that “reflects peace and quiet.”

Third place:  Roberta Myyra – Quilt #131:  “Fire Island Hosta”

Roberta’s piece is a Judy Niemeyer design for an intricate paper-pieced quilt that she says drew her “like a moth to a flame.”  Although each time she does one, she swears she’ll never do it again, but already has her next Niemeyer quilt picked out!
