Ana Buzzalino’s workshop, “Monoprinting Without a Press” will teach students how to create your own art fabric using a Gelli Plate or making your own rubbing plate. Students will use water-based paints on Gelli Plates or other surfaces using various techniques and playing with a variety of materials to create several pieces to use as underpaintings or stand alone art. In the first part of the class we will make rubbing plates to use in monoprinting. Optional kit for making rubbing plates is available. Monoprints combine the spontaneity of printed paints and fabric, creating a surface that is unlike any other. It is the most painterly method among the printmaking techniques. No two prints are alike!
The class runs from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM Eastern Time with a 1/2 hour break for lunch. This workshop will be held online.
